During the good ol’ 37th Street Oakland roommate days, I had the best food company — Hai the master chef of all cuisines, Vinh the master chef of bomblettes, and Nkauj Iab the master chef of chicken wings. Our routine for Nkauj Iab’s signature dish: Nkauj Iab prepped the chicken wings, Vinh bbqed the bad boys on the rooftop, Hai made mimosas, and I happily snapped food photos. After our time in Oakland, I crave Nkauj Iab’s chicken wings the same way that I crave my Pop’s homecooking. It’s been a minute since I’ve had the goodness (almost six months!) and I can’t wait for our upcoming cooking reunion.
