Bun Bo Hue Nam Giao | Bun Bo Hue | Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Oh my my my. The move is complete and what is one of the first things I accomplish? I ate versions of bun bo hue three in a row. Uh yah. Reasons? Pure love for the dish and to compare three distinct styles in close as time as possible.
This bowl was the most traditional of the three bowls of bun bo hue — slices of tender beef, a few cubes of pork blood, shrimp-pork ball, pork cake, and hemhock (Sidenote: Surprisingly Vinh + I had to inquire why our bowls did not include hemhock and subsequently had it added at two of the three joints, each respective server assumed we wouldn’t eat it, how funny!). And oh this bowl’s amazing pork-based broth! A powerful and wonderful heat that kicks down your throat as you slurp down this tasty and perfectly spiced broth. I don’t mind that the portions are significantly smaller here, but in this case, I seriously considered ordering seconds and thirds. So tasty and my top pick of the bowls I’ve tried here so far!
