Foie Gras Ice Cream in a Ginger (oh) Snap! | Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream | San Francisco, California
Foie gras in whole form melted into a puree before being churned into ice cream and placed between two freshly made gingersnap cookies. Apparently the taste of the foie gras is more apparent in smell, too bad for me. I tasted a hint of foie gras and more so a perfect blend of caramel and sugar creamy goodness. And though the gingersnaps were a bit too sweet for my preference and overwhelmed the texture, this ice cream sandwich is worth the $4 — so fun and so delicious! Sadly these bad boys are NOT available daily (they are usually prepared during the week and for sale on the weekends) and sell out with the quickness, but give Humphry’s a call ahead of time and they will gladly set one aside for you to pick up.
